The Annapurna Sanctuary trek also known as the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek region is placed below the massive south face of Annapurna is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. The trek begins in Pokhara and leads up through the breathtaking Modi Khola gorge into the vast mountain ringed amphitheatre of the Sanctuary. 
The route crosses along the bamboo and rhododendron forests and pass between the mountains of Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli which guard the entrance to the Sanctuary, and reached the high glacial basin that is the site of the Annapurna south face base camp. The major peaks of the western part of the mighty Annapurna Himal, with Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are set almost specifically in a circle of nearly 10 miles in length through a cavernous glacier-covered amphitheatre at the centre. From this glacier valleys known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, in the south, the gorges release into a broad and lush valley, the land of the Gurungs. Views of Dhaulagiri and the Kali Gandaki from Poon Hill Natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda adds the another wonders in the trek.

ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP OPTION 01

ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP OPTION 01


Day 01: Kathmandu (1350 m)

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. (At the foot of the Himalayas, where they assure that their gods live, Nepal stands, a land of spectacular landscapes, temples and cities with a rich cultural heritage. These seem to transfer the traveler to medieval times on their walks through KATHMANDU, BHAKTAPUR and PATAN, the three urban cities that represent the backbone of the country. Stay overnight at hotel. 


Day 02: Kathmandu – Pokhara (820m)

We have three options to reach Pokhara; via flight, private vehicle and tourist bus. We will reach Pokhara after 25 minutes flight, 5 / 6 hours by private vehicle and 7 / 8 hours by tourist bus as per client’s requirement. Pokhara is one of the beautiful city in Nepal from where we can see the lakeside view, Mountain View and very chill & peaceful environment. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Pokhara – Nayapul (1070 m) – Ghandruk (1940m.) - 5/6 hrs

After breakfast in hotel, we will drive towards Nayapul. We ascend gently towards Ghandruk; the place which is very familiar as the Gurung’s ethnicity. We can see the beautiful settlement of Gurung people with their traditional houses and mountains on the opposite side. We can see clear view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre in front of our eyes from Ghandruk. Stay overnight at Lodge.


[Note: It is also possible to take the vehicle directly upto Ghandruk which is about 20 km far from Pokhara and takes about 1 hour 35 minutes to reach there.]


Day 04: Ghandruk – Chhomrong (2170m) - 5 hrs

This day after breakfast, we will walk towards Chhomrong through descending and ascending trails. We will reach Chhormrong after 5 to 6 hours of walk. Chhomrong is a very beautiful small village with the settlements of various ethnics groups having majority of Gurung community. We can enjoy the beautiful view and a clean and happy environment here. From here we can see the panoramic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Fistail Mountains. Stay overnight at Lodge.


Day 05: Chhomrong - Himalaya (2920m) - 5/ 6 h

After the breakfast, we will get ready to reach our next destination, Himalaya. This day we will descend downward a little and then crossing the bridge we ascend towards Himalaya passing through jungles along Modi Khola. On the way we pass through the places like Sinuwa, Bamboo to reach Himalaya. We walk through the beautiful jungle and waterfall on the way to Himalaya. Stay overnight at Lodge.


Day 06: Himalaya – Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) 6/7 hours

After breakfast in Himalaya, we will walk towards Annapurna Base Camp. We have to walk 2 or 3 hours along the lap of Hiunchuli, there are sometimes chances of occurring avalanches in this trail. We will walk for two hours from Himalaya to Deurali and after walking around one and half hours we will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Even from here, we see ourselves surrounded by beautiful mountains. Then enjoying the mesmerizing view, surrounded by mountains we will walk on the lap of Himalaya for 2 hours and reach Annapurna Base Camp. Stay overnight at Lodge.


Day 07: Annapurna Base Camp – Bamboo (2335 m) 5/6 hours

We will have breakfast in morning. We can see the beautiful sunrise where the sun rays falls on Himalayas. We will be awestruck with the mesmerizing view of mountain. After that, we will return back towards Bamboo through same route, It will take around 5/6 hours to reach Bamboo. Stay overnight at Lodge.


Day 08: Bamboo – Jhinu Danda (1780 m) 6/7 hours

We will take breakfast and head towards new destination. This day we will walk towards Jhinu Danda, one the way we will reach Chhomrong village again, we will reach Chhomrong after 4/5 hours walk, Again after walking one hour descend from Chhomrong we will reach Jhinu danda there is natural hot spring in the middle of the jungle. We can take hot water bath; it is believed that your pain is relieved after taking bath on hot spring. Stay overnight at Lodge.


Day 09: Jhinu Danda – Pokhara (820 m) 8/9 hours

We will take breakfast in the morning. This day after walking 8 hours along the Modi River, we will reach Nayapul. After one and half hour drive from Nayapul by taxi or car, we will reach Pokhara. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 10: Pokhara (820m)

On this day in the early morning we will drive to Sarangkot. From this place we can see the magical, beautiful sunrise view and panoramic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. We will return back to hotel and enjoy the breakfast in hotel. In the afternoon we will do the city sightseeing. We will visit the mysterious Gupteshore cave, amazing David falls, International Mountaineering Museum, through boating in Fewa Lake we will visit Bindubasini temple. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 11: Pokhara – Kathmandu

We will take breakfast in the hotel. We have options to reach Kathmandu: via flight / private vehicle / tourist bus. It takes 25 minutes by flight, around 5 / 6 hour by private vehicle and 7 / 8 hours by tourist bus to reach Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel. 


Day 12: Kathmandu

We will get visit the different places which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath today. Stay overnight at hotel.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: (World Heritage Site): Kathmandu Durbar square is one of the popular place which is liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic embellishment. It consists of Huge Royal Palace with different temples dating back from the 15th to the 18th century. The house of the living goddess, the ferocious Kal Bhairav, the red monkey god, the Hanumandhokha palace, the Ashok Binayak temple, Kasthamandap, the Temple Taleju and hundreds of erotic carvings are some few examples of the sights at the square. All woodcarvings, statues and architecture in this area are exceptionally fine.


Swoyambhunath: Swoyambhunath is one of the most glorious Buddhist stupa. It is said to be 2000 years old. Swoyambhunath is, perhaps, the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal. The stupa is among the most ancient in this part of the world and its worshippers are diverse from Newar nuns, Tibetan monks and Brahman Priests to lay Buddhist and Hindus. Swoyambhunath provides an excellent view of the Kathmandu valley.


Bouddhanth: Boudhhanath stupa is one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. The Stupa 100 meters in diameter, was built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels by the Lichchivi King Mana Deva in the 15th century. The pinnacle of this stupa represent the stages of enlightenment, symbol of royalty, compassion, knowing and nirvana. There are many myths about the origins of the Stupa. Early morning and evening are the times to visit Bouddha to join the local residents in Kora. There is an enclosure with several monasteries of the different schools of Tibetan Buddhism.


Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred temples in Nepal. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed pagoda of brass and gilt gold; the gateway is plated with silver. There are linga images of Shiva along with statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the temple complex. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over South Asia offering worship to Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Entrance to the temple precinct is permitted to the Hindus only. However, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the vantage point across the bank of the Bagmati River.


Day 13: Final Departure Day

Enjoy your last day on Kathmandu before departure. At your mentioned departure time our correspondent will pick you up from hotel and transfer to airport and depart you with warm hearts.

Day 01: Kathmandu (1350 m)

Day 03: Pokhara – Nayapul - Hille (1475 m) 5/6 hrs

Early in the morning, we drive from Pokhara to Nayapul in approx. an hour and a half. Once we arrived at Nayapul, the starting point of the trek, we started walking reaching the town of Hille in about four hours. Stay overnight at lodge. 


Day 04: Hille - Ghorepani (2750m) 6/ 7 hrs

After breakfast we will start walking in about 2 hours to Ulleri, continuing the trek climbing endless stairs. Along the way there are impressive views of Mount Machhapuchre "fish tail". We will have lunch along the way, reaching Ghorepani. Stay overnight at lodge.

(Note: We can also directly hire the vehicle from Pokhara to Ghorepani which is 30 km and takes about 3 hours via jeep to reach there.)


Day 05: Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3200m) - Tadapani (2590m) 6/7 hrs

Early in the morning, we hike to Poon Hill (3200m), a mountain viewpoint, from where you can see the sunrise and a wide panoramic view of the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna range. After enjoying the panoramic views of Himalayas we return to Ghorepani for breakfast and continuing our trek to Tadapani (2590 m), a place that offers us beautiful views of the mountains Annapurna south, Himchuli, Gangapurna and others. Stay overnight at lodge.


Day 06: Tadapani - Chhomrong (2170m) 5/6 hrs

After taking breakfast in the morning we head towards Chhomrong which takes about 5 hours of walking through a descending and ascending hiking trail. We will arrive Chhormrong, a town of different ethnic groups, mostly of the Gurung ethnic group. From here we can see Annapurna South, Hinchuli and Macchapuchare. Stay overnight at lodge.


Day 07: Chhomrong - Himalaya (2920m) 5/ 6 hrs

After the breakfast, we will get ready to reach our next destination, Himalaya.
