MERA PEAK - OPTION 01
Arrival
at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel.
(At the foot of the Himalayas, where they assure that their gods live, Nepal
stands, a land of spectacular landscapes, temples and cities with a rich
cultural heritage. These seem to transfer the traveler to medieval times on
their walks through KATHMANDU, BHAKTAPUR and PATAN, the three urban cities that
represent the backbone of the country. Stay overnight at hotel.
In the early morning, we fly to Lukla from
where our trek begins, walking for about 5-6 hours through a smooth and
slightly ascending trail. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day we will walk for about 7-8 hours to reach Thuli Kharka. We start by walking for about 4 hours through an uphill trail through glaciers. After crossing them, we begin to descend through a track to reach Thuli Kharka. This day we will walk for about 7-8 hours to reach Thuli Kharka. After breakfast, we walk for about 4-5
hours on a zig-zag trail and through jungles before reaching Kothe. Stay
overnight in lodge.
This day we will have to walk for about 4
hours along the river bank and through an uphill path to reach Tangnag. Stay
overnight in lodge.
This day we stay in Tangnag. Taking a
well-deserved rest to acclimatize, being able to explore around the area. Stay
overnight in lodge.
This day we walk for about 6 hours through
an uphill trail to reach Khare. Along the way we will have panoramic views of
the mountains. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day we will walk for approximately 6
hours, half of the way through a normal track and the other half on the
glacier, before reaching the high camp. From the high camp we will see a varied
range of mountains. Our guide and porters will set up the tent camp.
Accommodation in tents.
This day early in the morning, at around
03:00 we start walking towards the summit of Mera Peak, trying to reach the top
around 10:00 in the morning. After enjoying its views, we will descend towards
Khare, where we will arrive around 5:00 p.m. Accommodation in tent camp.
We reserve this day for the course of the
two people, any meteorological or unforeseen setback the previous days.
This day we will walk for approximately 6 hours through a descending trail to reach Kothe. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day we walk for approximately 6 hours
through an ascending path and through jungles. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day we walk for about 2 hours before
reaching Chutanga. We start walking on an ascending path to continue on a
smooth path and ending up descending to the town of Chutanga. We continue
walking on an uphill trail for about 3 hours, before reaching the Zatrwa La
pass, from where we start descending for about 2 hours, before reaching Lukla. Stay
overnight in lodge.
If conditions allow, we will fly in a small plane from Lukla for about 35 minutes, landing in Kathmandu. Stay overnight in lodge.
We will get visit the different
places which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site: Kathmandu Durbar Square,
Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath today. Stay overnight at hotel.
Kathmandu Durbar Square: (World Heritage
Site): Kathmandu Durbar square is one of the popular place which is
liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic
embellishment. It consists of Huge Royal Palace with different temples dating
back from the 15th to the 18th century. The house of the
living goddess, the ferocious Kal Bhairav, the red monkey god, the
Hanumandhokha palace, the Ashok Binayak temple, Kasthamandap, the Temple Taleju
and hundreds of erotic carvings are some few examples of the sights at the
square. All woodcarvings, statues and architecture in this area are
exceptionally fine.
Swoyambhunath: Swoyambhunath is one
of the most glorious Buddhist stupa. It is said to be 2000 years old.
Swoyambhunath is, perhaps, the best place to observe the religious harmony in
Nepal. The stupa is among the most ancient in this part of the world and it’s
worshippers are diverse from Newar nuns, Tibetan monks and Brahman Priests to
lay Buddhist and Hindus. Swoyambhunath provides an excellent view of the
Kathmandu valley.
Bouddhanth: Boudhhanath stupa is
one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. The Stupa 100 meters in
diameter, was built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels by the
Lichchivi King Mana Deva in the 15th century. The pinnacle of this
stupa represent the stages of enlightenment, symbol of royalty, compassion,
knowing and nirvana. There are many myths about the origins of the Stupa. Early
morning and evening are the times to visit Bouddha to join the local residents
in Kora. There is an enclosure with several monasteries of the different
schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
Pashupatinath:
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred temples in Nepal. The temple
of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed pagoda of brass and gilt gold; the
gateway is plated with silver. There are linga images of Shiva along with
statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the temple complex.
There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over South Asia
offering worship to Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Entrance to the temple
precinct is permitted to the Hindus only. However, visitors can clearly see the
temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the vantage
point across the bank of the Bagmati River.
Enjoy your last day on Kathmandu before
departure. At your mentioned departure time our correspondent will pick you up
from hotel and transfer to airport and depart you with warm hearts.
MERA PEAK - OPTION 02
Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. breakfast we will drive by jeep to reach Phaplu which takes about 9 to 10
hours. If we take flight we can reach Phaplu in 25 minutes. Stay overnight in
lodge.
After breakfast,
we will begin to walk straight trial, upward as well as downward trails. Along
the way we can enjoy the beautiful
panoramic view of Numbur, Khatang and Karyolung Himal. We can also
visit Taksindu Gumba (which is in Ringmu village) after crossing many villages.
Then we will reach Nuntala which is the settlement of Rais, Sherpas and Magars.
We can explore around. Stay overnight in lodge.
After
breakfast we will start walking on a
descending path until we cross the Dudhkoshi River, from which we start walking
diagonally through an ascending path and arrive at Jubhing Village, from where
we continue walking to Kharikhola. In Kharikhola, we will visit his Gumba
“monastery” and then drive to Panggom, which is about 2.5 hours from Kharikhola. Stay overnight in lodge.
After breakfast we head
towards Ningsow which takes about 5/6 hours. We have to walk in zigzag routes crossing
through the jungle from where we can observe the Mera range. We will arrive at
Ningsow Village where we will spend the night in a lodge. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day, we have to walk ascending and also descending paths crossing the
jungle. We will arrive at Ramailo Danda (beautiful top of the hill). We can
enjoy some very beautiful views, as well as the Kyashar Himal range and the
Mera Peak. After Ramailo Danda, we will arrive at ChhetraKhola. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day, we
start by hiking up an ascending trail that goes through the jungle. We also
have to walk across many sides of the river. We will arrive at Kothe, where we
will spend the night in a lodge.
This day we will have to walk for about 4 hours along the river bank and
through an uphill path to reach Tangnag. Stay overnight in lodge.
This day we stay in Tangnag. Taking a well-deserved rest to acclimatize,

This day we walk for about 4 hours before
reaching Chutanga. We start walking on an ascending path for about 2 hours, to

From here, we start walking along a path from where we start descending for
about 2 hours, before reaching Lukla. Stay overnight in lodge.
After
breakfast we will fly back from Lukla for about 35 minutes, landing in
Kathmandu. After arrival in Kathmandu airport we will pick you up and drop to
hotel. Stay overnight in hotel.
