Barapokhari Yoga Trek is the recently explored, beautiful trek destination in Lamjung district, Gandaki. This trek lies in the Annapurna region, south part of Manaslu. We have to camp throughout the trek. If any travelers want to explore the less crowded area then we can go to Barapokhari. This place is a sacred religious place where most of the Hindu people go and worship during Janai purnima. It is believed that doing rituals (puja) on the day of Janai Purnima, god will bless them with the kids if they have not had before. A lot of Hindu people go to the temple of Barapokhari for performing ritual on this day with high belief.

During this trek we not only get to see the Himalayas and lake, we also get the chance to view the settlement of people in altitude area, and on the way we can see terrace farming as well. Also, we can do Yoga each day in this peaceful trekking trails each day. We can see the view of Himalayas like Buddha Himal, Mount Manaslu, Peak 29, Mansuri Himal, Mount Himchuli and Annapurna range’s Annapurna 4, Annapurna 3, Lamjung Himal Ganesh Himal Range’s from Barapokhari. This trek is highly recommended for those who want to explore the magnificent beauty of Himalayas, wilderness of Rhododendron forest especially in spring season, Gurung people village settlement, Kharkas, terrace farming and lifestyle of people of Himalayas. This trek is suitable to start from March to November. We can also explore the dense forest, rhododendron forest during our trek. This is one of the must visit trekking destination for all the travelers who wants to have adventurous and memorable trek in Nepal. 

Barapokhari Yoga Trek is one of the best yoga trek options for the trekkers who want to explore the serene nature, mountains, culture and many more in en-route to jungle and temples. This is one of the perfect destination for Yoga Trek as the trial is less crowded and we can enjoy the peaceful yoga session in the middle of jungle alongside of mountains. The trek starts after reaching Udipur of Lamjung, Annapurna district and continues for another 5 days via Purano Dwar to Puwang Dada and then next day to our ultimate destination, Barapokhari. After enjoying the majestic view of Annapurna Range, Barapokhari lake and spiritual yoga session. We return back to Peace hill which is one of the best location for Yoga session as well as we can see beautiful view of the Lamjung valley on the downside and whole Annapurna Range infront of our eye. This is one of the best must visit place loved by the trekkers from the whole trek. From Peace hill we descend down by passing through the Gurung community and typical village houses we reach Bhusme, which is the last point of trek.

Detail Itinerary for Barapokhari Yoga Trek


Day 01: Kathmandu (1350 m)

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. (At the foot of the Himalayas, where they assure that their gods live, Nepal stands, a land of spectacular landscapes, temples and cities with a rich cultural heritage. These seem to transfer the traveler to medieval times on their walks through KATHMANDU, BHAKTAPUR and PATAN, the three urban cities that represent the backbone of the country. Stay overnight at hotel. 


Day 02: Kathmandu – Udipur – Purano Dwar (1600 m) 6 / 7 hours

We will take vehicle from Kathmandu to Purano Dwar. It takes around 7 hours’ drive to reach Purano Dwar. We will be driving through regular road upto Udipur and from there we will have to drive through bumpy road to reach Purano Dwar for about 2 hours. There is chance of vehicle not going upto Purano Dwar, we might have to walk a little to reach there. Purano Dwar is the village of ethic group of Gurung people. We can observe the lifestyle and their way of living at this place. We can explore around the village. We will set up a camp nearby village. Spend overnight at camp.


Day 03: Purano Dwar – Puwang Dada (2500 m) 4 /5 hours

This, day we have breakfast and head towards the new destination. We have to walk mostly the ascending trials through the dense forest. We will reach Puwang Dada after walking approximately for 4 to 5 hours. This will be our lunch camp in Puwang Dada, we can see the beautiful view from the top hill and also we can see the kharkas (small wood settlement of cowboys) from there. We can enjoy and explore around. Spend overnight at camp.


Day 04: Puwang Dada - Barapokhari (3100 m) 3/4 hrs

We will have breakfast and head towards our ultimate destination which is Barapokhari. On the way to Barapokhari we have to walk through the dense forest, walk the straight trials, ascending as well to reach Barapokhari. We have to pass through the beautiful forest before we reach there. This day after walking 3 to 4 hours we will reach Barapokhari, which will also be our lunch camp. We can explore around Barapokhari after we reach there.  Barapokhari is very famous for the Hindu temple. And there is a lake nearby where people worship as well as we can see the beautiful views of mountain. After exploring, we will set up the camp and stay overnight at camp.

After exploring Barapokhari, we can hike to the nearby places like: Komro Dada (3900 m). From Komro Dada, we see the beautiful views of mountain. We have to walk for about 2 hours ascending trail to reach here. We can see spectacular view of of Himalayas, mountain and scenic environment. After exploring we come back to Barapokhari. Spend overnight at camp.


Day 05: Barapokhari – Chitre Dada – Peace Hill (2800 m.) 4/5 hrs.

We will have our breakfast and head towards our new destination, Peace Hill. We have to return to the same descending trial up to Puwang Dada after walking for about 2 hours. Then after walking for about 4 to 5 hours we will reach Peace hill. The view seen from the peace hill is very scenic and exotic. There is a resort in the Peace Hill. We will stay in resort overnight.


Day 06: Peace Hill – Bhusme 2 hrs. – Kathmandu (1350 m.) 8 hrs.

We will have breakfast in the hotel. In the morning we can enjoy the exotic view seen from the Peace Hill. We can see the whole town from the up above the hill as well as we can see the mesmerizing views of Himalayas from there. The place is so beautiful that you feel like not returning back. After enjoying the view, we will walk through the descending trial for about 2 hours to reach Bhusme. Then the private vehicle will be waiting for you on the Bhusme. From Bhsume we will return back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel. (Note: We can do the tour from Bhusme to directly Kathmandu or go to different places like: Bandipur, Pokhara or Chitwan or Lumbini.)


Dia 07: Kathmandu (1350 m)

We will get visit the different places which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath today. Stay overnight at hotel.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: (World Heritage Site): Kathmandu Durbar square is one of the popular place which is liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic embellishment. It consists of Huge Royal Palace with different temples dating back from the 15th to the 18th century. The house of the living goddess, the ferocious Kal Bhairav, the red monkey god, the Hanumandhokha palace, the Ashok Binayak temple, Kasthamandap, the Temple Taleju and hundreds of erotic carvings are some few examples of the sights at the square. All woodcarvings, statues and architecture in this area are exceptionally fine.

Swoyambhunath: Swoyambhunath is one of the most glorious Buddhist stupa. It is said to be 2000 years old. Swoyambhunath is, perhaps, the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal. The stupa is among the most ancient in this part of the world and its worshippers are diverse from Newar nuns, Tibetan monks and Brahman Priests to lay Buddhist and Hindus. Swoyambhunath provides an excellent view of the Kathmandu valley.

Bouddhanth: Boudhhanath stupa is one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. The Stupa 100 meters in diameter, was built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels by the Lichchivi King Mana Deva in the 15th century. The pinnacle of this stupa represent the stages of enlightenment, symbol of royalty, compassion, knowing and nirvana. There are many myths about the origins of the Stupa. Early morning and evening are the times to visit Bouddha to join the local residents in Kora. There is an enclosure with several monasteries of the different schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred temples in Nepal. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed pagoda of brass and gilt gold; the gateway is plated with silver. There are linga images of Shiva along with statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the temple complex. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over South Asia offering worship to Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Entrance to the temple precinct is permitted to the Hindus only. However, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the vantage point across the bank of the Bagmati River.


Day 08: Departure from Kathmandu

Enjoy your last day on Kathmandu before departure. At your mentioned departure time our correspondent will pick you up from hotel and transfer to airport and depart you with warm hearts.
