Everest base camp trek is one of the typical treks which is an admired destination for trekkers in Nepal since the decade of 1950s. The Everest Base Camp trek starts from Lukla and follows the Dudh Kosi valley and climbs up to the gate-way of Everest Namche Bazar (3440m) a Sherpa's territory. The trail, passes along blooming forests of Rhododendron, magnolia, giant firs, across high mountain passes, remote valleys, villages and monasteries. 

This trail offers the pleasure adventurous psyche with more magnificent mountain views, verdant forested valleys, and possibilities to experience Nepalese tradition and culture. This trek is suitable to those who do not have much time to spend in Nepal but have a desire to see Mt. Everest from close quarters. The trip starts with the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Gokyo, Kalapatar, Everest Base Camp and Tengboche along the way. After visiting the Tengboche Monastery and viewing the soaring Mt. Everest from the base camp we get back to Kathmandu on the flight from Lukla. The spectacular scenery is unrivalled and the Sherpa communities make the trekkers feel welcome to their homes. Alpine flowers, stunning Buddhist monasteries and high mountain passes are the highlights of this trek.

EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK - OPTION 1

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. (At the foot of the Himalayas, where they assure that their gods live, Nepal stands, a land of spectacular landscapes, temples and cities with a rich cultural heritage. These seem to transfer the traveler to medieval times on their walks through KATHMANDU, BHAKTAPUR and PATAN, the three urban cities that represent the backbone of the country. Stay overnight at hotel. 

In the morning, take a spectacular 40-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla - 2840 meters in the Khumbu region of Eastern Nepal - providing unforgettable views of the terraced landscape and river valleys below, as well as up-close perspectives of some of the world's highest mountains followed by a trip to Phakding (2610m). After an easy afternoon's scenic walk, set up camp for an overnight stay Phakding. Stay overnight at hotel.

Walking through the magnificent forests of rhododendron, ending your nature-filled journey at Namche Bazaar (7 hrs from Phakding). While passing this long and often-steep passage, experience both the serenity and scenery of blue pine forests, firs, and junipers - all serving as the foreground to the beautiful back-splash that is Mount Everest. Stay overnight at hotel.

Enjoy the beauty of Namche's quaint village as well as the friendliness and hospitality of its local people. Trekkers may also visit the local museum containing exhibits displaying the area's native flora and fauna as well as the history of the Mount Everest region. Stay overnight at hotel.

Participants begin their trek with awe-inspiring, unforgettable views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Cholatse, Kantega, Ama Dablam and Thamserku. This stretch of the trek (approximately 3 hours) is quite an easy walk from Namche to Phunki, followed by a three-hour ascent towards Tengboche. Stay overnight at hotel.

Journey towards Pheriche and trek through forests filled with of a variety of lush trees - birch, conifers and rhododendron. This picturesque trail dips down to Debuche, crossing the Imja River before climbing up to Pheriche. Stay overnight at hotel.

Acclimatize for trekking. Follow the invaluable suggestions/advice of guides while taking short journeys to Dingboche and Chhukung while simultaneously experiencing the various but beautiful views of Himalayas. Stay overnight at hotel.

Continuation of ascent, climbing up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier - crossing the row of stone monuments. Stay overnight at hotel.

Enduring a climb of approximately two (2) hours to arrive at Gorak Shep where you are treated to yet another beautiful view of Mt. Everest and Pumori - reaching Kala Pathar (within two hours of trekking). Once observing one of the most up-close and formidable views of Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar, return back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay. Stay overnight at hotel.

Walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to the Everest Base Camp the closest destination reachable without proper mountain-climbing equipment. Here, enjoy the spectacular view of the Khumbu Icefall from the world-renowned Mount Everest Base Camp before descending to Lobuje. Stay overnight at hotel.

Enjoy a gentle, view-filled descent from Lobuje to Pangboche. Stay overnight at hotel.

Further return-descent to Namche Bazaar - once again traversing the beautiful, prismatic forests of blue pine and rhododendron. Stay overnight at hotel.

An easy walk down to Lulka for the final night's stay in the Khumbu region - participants can explore Lukla, a rapidly changing portion of the Himalayas. Stay overnight at hotel.

Take a return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu where participants can kick up their feet and relax at a hotel; taking time to reflect on the journey behind them. Stay overnight at hotel.

We will get visit the different places which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath today. Stay overnight at hotel.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: (World Heritage Site): Kathmandu Durbar square is one of the popular place which is liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic embellishment. It consists of Huge Royal Palace with different temples dating back from the 15th to the 18th century. The house of the living goddess, the ferocious Kal Bhairav, the red monkey god, the Hanumandhokha palace, the Ashok Binayak temple, Kasthamandap, the Temple Taleju and hundreds of erotic carvings are some few examples of the sights at the square. All woodcarvings, statues and architecture in this area are exceptionally fine.

Swoyambhunath: Swoyambhunath is one of the most glorious Buddhist stupa. It is said to be 2000 years old. Swoyambhunath is, perhaps, the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal. The stupa is among the most ancient in this part of the world and it’s worshippers are diverse from Newar nuns, Tibetan monks and Brahman Priests to lay Buddhist and Hindus. Swoyambhunath provides an excellent view of the Kathmandu valley.

Bouddhanth: Boudhhanath stupa is one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. The Stupa 100 meters in diameter, was built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels by the Lichchivi King Mana Deva in the 15th century. The pinnacle of this stupa represent the stages of enlightenment, symbol of royalty, compassion, knowing and nirvana. There are many myths about the origins of the Stupa. Early morning and evening are the times to visit Bouddha to join the local residents in Kora. There is an enclosure with several monasteries of the different schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred temples in Nepal. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed pagoda of brass and gilt gold; the gateway is plated with silver. There are linga images of Shiva along with statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the temple complex. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over South Asia offering worship to Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Entrance to the temple precinct is permitted to the Hindus only. However, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the vantage point across the bank of the Bagmati River.

EVEREST BASE CAMP VIA GOKYO CHOLA PASS - OPTION 2

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. (At the foot of the Himalayas, where they assure that their gods live, Nepal stands, a land of spectacular landscapes, temples and cities with a rich cultural heritage. These seem to transfer the traveler to medieval times on their walks through KATHMANDU, BHAKTAPUR and PATAN, the three urban cities that represent the backbone of the country. Stay overnight at hotel. 

This day we will have breakfast in hotel and departure by plane to Lukla. Flight to Lukla is a mountain flight which is highly dependent on weather conditions, therefore the flight could be delayed to more favorable situations. After arrival in Lukla, we will start the trekking. After walking two and a half hours on the way we will reach Phakding. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day we will have breakfast in early morning and head towards Namche Bazar. At the beginning of the stage the path is a low-rise and we will cross the Dhud Khosi river several times. Upon reaching the Monjo village (28,35 m) we have to complete the required procedures for permits. After the entry of permit, we will enter the Sagarmatha National Park (Everest) and continue with a steep zig-zag climb from where we will observe one of the curves of Mount Everest. After almost 5 hours of walking we will arrive at Namche Bazar, the capital of Sherpa people. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day we will have breakfast in hotel and in the morning we will make a circuit of about 4 hours, which will serve us for acclimatization and where we will enjoy magnificent views of Everest. In the afternoon free time to wander around and visit the Tibetan markets. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day we will have breakfast in the morning. We will start the day with a steep climb until we reach Mon la Pass (3972 m). This is a wonderful place and from where we can see the Ama Dablan and the Tengboche Monastery. Here we will stop for a while to acclimatize, and continue on a descent to Phortse Tenga. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day we will have breakfast in the morning and head towards the Machermo. As soon as we leave there is a steep climb up to 4000 m. where it softens. After passing through the towns of Labharma and Luza we will reach Machermo after walking for four and half hour. Stay overnight at Lodge.

After taking breakfast we will head towards Gokyo Ri from Machermo. We will continue to the Gokyo Ri from where we will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Himalayas, we will be able to enojoy the majestic view of Mount Everest, Mount Makalu, Mount Lhotse and so on. After enjoying the view in Gokyo Ri, we will descend to Gokyo. Stay overnight at Lodge.

After taking breakfast in the early morning we will continue the trek through ascending trials to Thagnang. If on previous day, the weather conditions were adverse and we could not reach Gokyo Ri then we will go there for the panoramic view, else continue to ascend to the GokyoRi after walking 2 and half hours. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day is very important. We start the day with a steep climb, and after an hour and a half we reach a pass at 5000 m from where we can see the Chola Pass. We continue climbing 3 hours and if the snow allows then we will pass the Chola Pass, (5330 m) from where we will see the Choyu and several mountains of more than 7000 m. Then we will descend through a long valley until we reach Dzonglha. Stay overnight at Lodge.

After taking breakfast in Dzongla and leave Dzonglha after two and a half hours we will arrive at the town of Lobuche. We continue up the trek from left bank of the glacier until we reach Gorakshep. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This is the great day of the Everest trek, in which we will enjoy, if the weather permits, the best views of Everest and its surroundings. We will go to KalaPattar (translated by "Black Stone"), we will climb the 400 meters that separate us from the top. The views, both of the Everest massif and the south face of the Pumori, are spectacular. We will return to GorakShep, for breakfast and after a break, continue to Everest base camp. This day we will go down and spend the night in Lobuche. Stay overnight at Lodge.

After taking breakfast in Lobuche we will head towards Tengboche. The route descends from Dingboche to the Imja Khola Valley, then we will cross a wooden bridge and the path turns upwards until we reach Tengboche. We will take advantage of this day to visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, an emblematic place of local Buddhist culture. We can visit it in the afternoon and meet the lama who live in it. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day we will have breakfast and start the day with beautiful views of Everest and Lhotse. The trek begins with a steep descent until crossing the river in the town of Phumki. We continue going up to Namche Bazar which takes about three hours. We will go to Namche Baza and explore around there. Stay overnight at Lodge.

This day after having breakfast, we will continue along the path that we already know until Phakding. From there we will continue descending trial to Lukla. Stay overnight at Lodge.

We will take a flight from the dizzying Tenzing Hillary Airport (an "eagle's nest") to fly to Kathmandu. The time of the flight will depend on the weather conditions. Arrival in Kathmandu and you can rest whole day. Stay overnight at Hotel.
